Mark Twain says it's spring fever

Mark Twain explained to me why I have the unexplainable cravings for all things outdoors and can't seem to contain my excitement:

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want is so!

"it just fairly makes your heart ache" - love that explanation. We drove by the little Farm Girl Farm today and it was so exciting. Even if we don't buy a share, I might just walk by every so often to watch it grow and change.

Now for some SPRING pictures. I am so happy it is spring!
Our whole family went outside for some fresh air today. It was so lovely. We pulled the dead stuff out of the garden areas and Joel picked up the yard.

this is the main garden area. we might expand it.

This one has some wild flowers and hosta to line the driveway

Basil even joined us. She did great and never went too far. Every once in a while we would hear "thud thud thud thud..." and then see a fuzz ball galloping back to the house. Any little noise sent her back to where she knew she was safe. She is a joy to have lately and is finally accepting Noah as part of the family.

Noah was investigating everything! He fell in love with a piece of wood toward the end but I didn't get a picture of that because the camera ran out of battery.

I love this boy!
After the camera died, Noah went in for a nap and Joel and I folded laundry outside. Yup, we brought the clean laundry outside and set up a card table to fold it. I just wasn't ready to surrender and go inside yet. I wanted as much of that vitamin D and fresh air as I could get. mmmhmmm sun!

Happy Spring!

  1. I loved spending time outside with you and Melissa when you were that age... investigating everything and anything....
